When I play strategy games, the biggest thing I notice is the AI. An intelligent, challenging AI can make a game great, and a poor AI makes it boring. Gary Grigsby's War in Russia had a lot of very interesting features, but the scale of the campaign put a lot of stress on the computing power of the day. If War in the East plays like Windows-native WIR with an upgraded AI, I'll be very pleased. I'm sure others have more extensive features lists, but this is just a start.
