Cheesehead -> The fairer sex (10/11/2004 8:01:02 PM)

Just out of curiosity...are there any women that play WiF? Any women that peruse this forum? Do any of you fellas know of any women who have ever played WiF?

When I was first married my wife and I played Squad Leader. That was before we had children and that game took about 20 minutes to learn to play the first few scenarios.

Never even heard of any women playing WIF

There is at least one that I know of. She attended WifCon this year.

I also know of at least one woman playing WiF (could be the same gbed knows). This game definitelly seems to be too much (time) for most women.

On the other hand I have played other wargames against/with a few women.

And lastly of course there are a few Italian male names that are spelled identically to German male names (Andrea for instance) which can lead to some confusion (via the internet obviously, face to face should be easier:-).

My guess is that the Sweet Potato Queens are really a front for die-hard women WIF gamers. [:'(]

DISCLAIMER: Don't even get me started on the SPQs, cuz I are married to one. [X(]

If you read the Hearts of Iron forum there is a Panzer Lehr from Finland whose picture in the left margin of her posts is quite impressive.
