Think enhanced SPARTAN. In Gates of Troy you get 6 new campaigns (Trojan Wars, Pass of Thermopylae, Greek Colonization, Pre-Historic Greece, Ionian Revolt, and the - yum - Grand Campaign with Rome and Persia), 19 historic heroes (Achilles, Paris, Odysseus, Aineais, Leonidas, Patroclus, etc.), 50+ units and a bunch of new features. If you don't have SPARTAN, GoT is a stand-alone game (and why don't you have SPARTAN? You call yourself a strategy gamer? :> ), and if you do have SPARTAN then you can play the SPARTAN campaigns using the new GoT engine.
