stubby331 -> 60 years ago today (Lest we Forget). (11/5/2004 4:11:04 AM) 60 years ago today my great Uncle Bob was killed. My great Uncle Bob was a rear gunner in a Halifax belonging to 466 Squadron RAAF (RAF Bomber Command). Unfortunately, while the whole crew got out safely, all but the Pilot Officer were murdered by angry civilian mobs. He is buried in a collective grave in the Rheinberg war cemetery near Wesel in Northern Germany. His older brother David is 88 today.
