Bison Frontier -> Two questions on CAP (11/14/2004 7:36:38 PM)

1) I had this scary situation once on v1.2. I split the KB carriers into two TFs of three CVs each, with supporting cruisers, DDs etc. Let's call them TF 1 and TF2. I made TF 2 follow TF 1 (patrol/do not retire), so I just concentrated on moving TF 1.

All Zeros on carriers were on escort at 90%. A USN CV TF attacked and even though max react was set to zero for both my TFs, TF 1 MOVED toward the US carriers while TF 2 didn't. The US airstrikes went for TF 1. There was NO CAP whatsoever and the SBDs and TBDs were able to immediately go for TF1's ships without first having to face the defending CAP. Has anyone experienced something similar? Or faced ANY situations when the CAP didn't activate for whatever reason?

2) Wrt LR CAP, has anyone assigned the LR CAP to a particular TF and when that TF got attacked from the air, no aircraft performed CAP? In my case, the TF couldn't be out of range since the A6M2 has a max range of 11, and my TF was at most 3 or 4 hexes away... also there was a situation where all my LR CAP fighters are stationed at XX base. XX base was bombed, and none of my fighters rose to defend it. Is this normal?

Anyone?
