mucky -> Ive got a problem! (11/18/2004 10:46:58 PM)

Im on the verge of buying witp, from what ive been reading, its looks a very good game, however! I have noticed that the new patch is out, 1.03 (77mb) The size of the patch is a big issue for me as i only have dial-up!

Now obviously i cant download it, nor can i 'stop-start-stop-start' the download etc

I was wondering, if i was to buy witp this very moment would it come with the latest version?

I've downloaded Witp and all of the patches so far using dial-up, no problem (the game itself took 24Hrs, got disconnected 3 times) [:D]. Still faster and cheaper than FedX!

Use a download manager like GetRight, so if you get disconnected, you can pickup where you left off. Just Google to find a download of GetRight.

Also, try the 16 mB version of 1.3 if the download is still 1.21. It works fine for me.

hey, sorry for the late reply, i had to get some sleep!

thanks for the advice, ill probably will download. One little question now, i have no actually ordered the game about 5 mins ago, but ive no email to confirm it...is it going to be a problem or shouold a wait?

You might need the email response (or it might appear on the webpage when you order). There's a serial number that you are assigned. NEVER LOSE THAT. You have to input it when you go to install, and every time you update the game. Even if you've bought the CD backup, it asks you for the serail number (which I believe might be printed on the CD). But if you didn't buy the CD, you need to keep that serial number, and have it handy when you do upgrades.

ive still to reiceve the email, and yes i have ordered a CD. could someone confirm the serial number is printed on the cd?

Embark -> RE: Ive got a problem! (11/19/2004 8:30:18 PM)

One thing that helps with the cd key is that once you enter it into into your pc it is stored in your registry. So if for whatever reason you lose the paper you wrote the key down on, you can look it up if you need to update the game. I know this doesn't help with getting it from MATRIX for the first time but it helps when a new patch comes out and you cant find that damn sheet of paper. Another thing that helps out a lot is registering the game with Matrix. This helps with people trying to pirate the game by MATRIX knowing that the game is YOURS and not some schmuck who just downloaded the thing from Kazaa or EMULE. They keep the key in their database so you can look it up at a later date.

Go see the thread Problems "READ ME FIRST" in the support fourm.

2ndACR -> RE: Ive got a problem! (11/19/2004 9:50:03 PM)

It is not printed on the CD or at least it was not on mine.

All mine had on it was my name. I wrote my serial number on both the cd cover and on the CD. Plus in a file I have on a backup disk that I store important serial numbers, account numbers etc on.

dtravel -> RE: Ive got a problem! (11/19/2004 11:38:49 PM)

My CD has the Order ID # on the label along with my name. Giving that info to Matrix should be enough to enable them to lookup your serial # if necessary. (Still, something to be avoided if possible.)
