ORIGINAL: Veldor In my experience, that error is always related to the video card drivers. Not necessarily with them being out of date only, it is often seen when loading the latest drivers which are prehaps not so solid. DirectDraw Initialization is exactly that... Some of the very first commands that need to interact with your video drivers. My advice. Get the latest drivers for your video card from the manufacturer preferably. Or if your running the latest, Try an older revision. that, and unistall the old ones before updating them. Many people simply install drivers over the old ones, which in certain cases causes more problems then it helps. Depending on your type of grpahic card there are many freeware tools out there that let you remove the drivers completly (which does not happen if you simply uninstall the Windows way).
