Infanterie -> PBEM and a question (6/18/2000 8:51:00 PM)

When using the battle generator and PBEM, does the fact whether you are able to buy airplanes or not depend on a time period chosen? Or perhaps the type of engagement? Just wondering. Last PBEM game I initiated (Germany vs. USA, meeting engagement, July '43), playing as Germans, the glider and cargo planes were only ones available. Am I to believe that Luftwaffe has this little resources to offer to me? Also, is it possible to assign support points to a PBEM game? Thats all, happy hunting folks, --OP

There is a preference dial selction for how many sections of planes are available. You can set it to what you want and the game will let you buy them. Leave it at XXX will do it randomly based on the general historical situation at the time. PBEM forces are not deivided int "core" and "support"

Thanks for the info! My boys were feeling a tad bit uneasy without air support... a couple of Messerschimtt's in reserve should boots their morale! --OP

Hello... You will sometimes find that you have access to gliders and trasports, when you do not have strike aircraft available.

That is because gliders and paratroopers were sometimes used at night or in weather which would not allow targeting ground forces, like rain or fog. The routine that determines who has control of the air and therefore who gets strike aircraft, considers this. Bye... Michael Wood

Ah yes... I'll adjust the time of the day and weather toggles before next PBEM battle - with some experimenting, I should find a working balance. --OP
