Noxius -> Pls help a newbie (1/3/2005 10:12:42 PM)

Im new in the SPWAW and I am affected by the infamous lost leader bug in LV.
I got all the patches and the 8.3 version of the game.
I've read there's a fix for that issue, where I can find it?

Thx in advance!

This link, Lost Leader "Patch" will take you to a thread where you can get the file, and instructions on how to use it.

Alas! it seems it doesn't work fine for LV, anything else I can try??

What specifically is happening and when, because you are the first I've ever heard of that it would NOT work. Did you catch the comment in the thread Bernie quoted about this not being an an automatic procedure? That it is a program you must run between battles?

Noxius -> RE: Pls help a newbie (1/6/2005 3:41:53 PM)

Well, my first unit Lt Vebber has dropped his rally points to 30 and the other stats are quite low as well, Im pushing throw the the Stalin's line and I'm really annoyed by this behaviour. Moreover it seems I got more than 70 officers or at least most of them are duplicated. I managed to fix some other units, but this one is tough.

So you say I must use it before starting a new scenario? You mean after the result of the precedent battle and before the 1st turn of the new one?
If so I shall check some old save.....

Jim1954 -> RE: Pls help a newbie (1/6/2005 6:25:01 PM)

The way I do it is like this:

Start the campaign. Name the battle LV-01 (or whatever you want) Before I play any of the turns, I quit the battle and let the system do an auto save. Then I exit out of SP and go into windows explorer and create a folder somewhere that I call MC saves. Go to SPWAW folder and open up megacampaigns, saves, and copy the 3 files there that will be there and paste them into the the new MC Saves folder. That gives me a safe place to restart should something get corrupted.

Now I go back into SP and play the MC battle. When it's done, and I go through the screens to get to the next battle, and once again I make a save before I play any turns. Then I exit out of the MC and go back in and load the save. It will still say LV-01. There is a point where you can rename the save file and at that point I rename it LV-02. Exit out of SP, open up the lost leader program and choose the .cam file LV-02 as the one to edit. When you open it up, you will see the units that are missing data, or have really screwed up attributes and I correct them. Then save it and exit. As before, copy and paste the save data from SP/Megacampaigns/saves into the new MC saves folder.

Going back into SP I load the LV-02 save and everything is now ok.

There may be much quicker ways to do this but it is simple enough if you do it a time or 2.

Hope this helps.

Ouch, it works for every unit but not for the first, Lt Vebber, maybe it's not my lucky day...

Thx anyway for ur detailed explanation [;)]
