Done and Done.

Armorer -> RE: Commanders - Players (2/22/2005 7:15:19 PM)

If any American BBs ( maybe the Arizona ) or CAs are still available, I'll take one.

Pickrell, Randy A. I'll leave the stats to your best judgement.

Thanks,
Randy

TheElf -> RE: Commanders - Players (2/22/2005 9:18:42 PM)

Any US Carriers still available?

Tankerace -> RE: Commanders - Players (2/22/2005 10:00:34 PM)

The Langley is taken, but the hypothetical Yorktown and Enterprise are good.

Sir... I am confused. I shall let LtJg Knucklehead ask...

Yorktown/Enterprise?

Lexington commisioned Dec '27. Saratoga commisioned Nov '27.
Ranger commisioned June '34. Yorktown & Enterprise commisioned 1936.

The Ranger, Yorktown, Enterprise all fall outside the timeframe of the scenarios as outlined in your The Official War Plan Orange FAQ thread, right?

Did you misspeak, and mean Lex/Sara?

Tankerace -> RE: Commanders - Players (2/23/2005 8:10:00 PM)

Read - "Hypothetical".

In the 1920s, War Plan Orange designers decided that should war break out, cargo ships, liners, or even colliers would be converted to aircraft carriers. A class of two US carriers arrive in the waay late 1920's to represent this. However, I kept the names the same as in the lineage, i.e. Since Langley is already built, and the names Lexington, Saratoga, and Ranger are assigned to battle cruisers, the next names in the series are Yorktown and Enterprise.

They are capable of operating with the battle line (unlike the 15 knot Langley), but only carry 22 planes (as opposed to Langley's 34).

To represent Japan's plans along the same lines, they receive 2 additional Hosho's in the late '20s as well.

This class of carrier is the only purely hypothetical class in War Plan Orange, although based on design studies undertook at the time.

Graeve, P. US Artillery Unit if possible, if not, a US fighting ship would be nice. L 68 I 70

BTW..your "name your commander" idea is just great. Others should try the same...weirdly satisfactory!

Many thanks! What ship was the New Jersey prior to BB62?

Tankerace -> RE: Commanders - Players (3/4/2005 7:38:05 PM)

She was BB-16, a Virginia class predreadnought. A history and photos can be found Here.

How goes it?? Just want to confirm that I've still got HMS Princess Royal.
Rattray R.D. 65/65
Thanks!

Rob.

Tankerace -> RE: Commanders - Players (3/24/2005 4:04:55 AM)

Yep, you've got her. I apologize for not posting the list, but I am trying to finish up my end of the things, plus get the recognition manual done. I'll try and post a list, but I might not be able to. Some times there should be 25 hours in a day, ya know?

rogueusmc -> RE: Commanders - Players (3/28/2005 7:23:30 AM)

If ya still need a name ( can't remember if I posted mine when ya first asked)...
Whatley, L.C. have fun with my stats....[:D]

String -> RE: Commanders - Players (11/17/2005 10:54:41 PM)

Wow.. hmm... what kind of ship is USS Borie anyway? I can't remember what kind of ship i asked myself to be assigned to, but seems like it isn't anything spectacular.

*sigh* .. i guess getting reassigned to any of the QE class BB's would be out of the question.. i'd love seeing myself on the bridge of HMS Valiant, with my newfound love for the royal navy and all. [8D]

Terminus -> RE: Commanders - Players (11/17/2005 10:57:50 PM)

The Borie is a Clemson 4in/50 DD.

robertjgowans -> RE: Commanders - Players (11/17/2005 11:33:09 PM)

Hi,
Just read the thread regarding ships commanders names and was disappointed to see Gowans, R.J. was no longer in command of HMS VALIANT. I had asked for this ship some months back and was told OK ship had been allocated.
Can you confirm Gowans R.J. still has HMS VALIANT.
Cheers RJG.

Terminus -> RE: Commanders - Players (11/17/2005 11:41:24 PM)

Checked the DB, and he does...

TSCofield -> RE: Commanders - Players (11/18/2005 6:04:06 AM)

Is the USS Illinois in the game? I know she was classified as a training ship in 1921 but I don't think she was fully demilitarized until late in the decade.

If she is available I would like her.

Thomas Cofield, 64, 66

Tankerace -> RE: Commanders - Players (11/18/2005 6:07:09 AM)

She is in the OOB, but doesn't appear in any of the scenarios.

What I will do though is add your name in to the OOB in the first patch (trying to put the gold candidate together now), and then your name will be selectable. If we hit another bug I'll add it in with the fix, but I don't think we'll hit one before release.

GaryChildress -> RE: Commanders - Players (11/18/2005 6:09:00 AM)

Hi Tanker, is it too late to request a Childress, G. R., any ship, any rank, any leadership value. In fact would you be able to make my ship a large AK stationed in San Francisco? Then I could convert it into various auxiliaries! [:)]

Thankyou!

Gary

Tankerace -> RE: Commanders - Players (11/18/2005 6:12:09 AM)

It is too late for the first release, but I have no problem adding them in with the first post release patches/scenario additions.
