Popped-up as one of the big % gainers on the NASDAQ today.

Hmmm, could that be THE Monarch that used to be Monarch Avalon which was what published what we all knew and loved as Avalon Hill?

From the info:

Ah yes the ole Harford Road address! But what are they up to today?

Monarch Services, Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to publish magazine through its subsidiary, Girl's Life, Inc. The Group operates in three segments namely, Publishing, Retail and Restaurant. The Group is engaged in the publication of Girls' Life magazine in the publishing segment, Adam Leaf and Bean tobacco shop in the retail segment and Peerce's Plantation in the restaurant segment. The Group publishes bi-monthly magazine for young girls between the age ten to fifteen. It also plans to establish young men's magazine and a theme restaurant that is based on Girls' Life magazine. The Group discontinued Adam Leaf and Bean tobacco shop from 19-Aug-2004.

So from publishing war games to publishing girlie magazines! [:D] (Um, NOT girly mags, mags FOR girls!) I find it interesting they kept the same bi-monthly format that The General was published under.

Maybe we could get them to slant their propsed young man's magazine to be about wargaming? [:)]

I believe that they were always a magazine publisher; AH was just one small part of the corporation.

Yeah, I believe so too, but of course I only ever cared about the war games, but the Tobacco shops and restaurant?

It was just like bumping into an old friend unexpectedly and seeing how much he's changed...

But then again, maybe Girl's Life is analogous to The General in that it publishes articles that let little girls fight the gender wars in the game of life? [:D]

Maybe Matrix ought to ring 'em up and see how much they'd charge for printing manuals? [8D]
