Slappy -> Concern about STUN2 difficulty (12/17/2001 2:43:00 PM)

Hi,
I bought STUN1, and while I think it is a great game, the AI just didn't present a challenge, even when given all advantages and all the difficulty options were turned on.
I ended having to make silly rules to try to make it hard, like "I have only 1 ship per colony", or "I can make only scouts (and scuttle any ship I get that's bigger)"... eventually I got to "I can only have 1 scout per colony". Needless to say, I'd much rather not have to restrict myself in order to have a challenging game.
My question is this: is STUN2 _A LOT_ harder than STUN1 when the AI has all the advantages turned on? I'd like it to be almost impossible to win when I set the AI to it's hardest level. I realize that the AI will almost certainly have to cheat in order to be this hard, and that's ok - until we have computer AI that's nearly as smart as a real human (something that's many years off I believe), AI will need to cheat in order to compete.
For me, this is a make or break issue for STUN2.
Thanks, Slappy
