I'm not sure what is going wrong or even if there is a problem, but after waiting 90 days for disbanded Japanese air groups to reform, they are returning empty -- zero pilots, zero aircraft. Is this the way its supposed to work? If I set accept replacements I'll get a whole squadron of pilots with 20-30 experience. Shouldn't they have been training for the last ninety days?

Yes, that is the way it works. It will fill out with planes and pilots from the pools. If you don't have pilots in the pool it will fill out with newbies which you can train on-map.

Hi, That is why it is very important to get a few groups into the program as soon as you can. Training does not even start till the unit returns. (It takes 90 days to set up a unit to start training)

Disbanding moves the planes AND pilots to another group and reforms the squadron in 90 days with fresh pilots from the pool.

Withdrawing them keeps the pilots with the sqadron...you will have the experienced pilots from before when the unit returns.
