kaiser73 -> Experienced Japanese Opponent wanted (3/15/2005 11:00:08 AM)

I am looking for an experienced Japanese player.

I have played 6 short time scenarios PBEM. I am currently playing 1 PBEM as Japan, and i played other 2 PBEM GC (both stopped for various reasons, one cause i lost as Japan in my first PBEM).

I would like to play Allies this time.
I am ok with any house rule (no problem with japan using the first turn surprise to invade other bases).

Only thing i really want is 2d/t setting. I can guarantee 1 turn per day as minimum (and i expect that from my opponent as well, i don't want to spend 5 years to end the game [:D]) maybe more. But since i know anyone can have RL jobs, i want the game to go little faster.
I personally played 2d/t PBEM and it works just fine. When you get used to it, it's just quite close to 1 day/t. it takes just little more planning, but not much more.

Anyway, post here or email me at gabriele.bianchini@fastwebnet.it if you are interested. I am european, but can play at work sometimes, so no problem playing with US guy.

I'm not a top player, but i am good now after several PBEMs (and some losses). So i won't play with new players. I can play just 1 more PBEM, so in case more people apply, i will pick one "known" in the community who can give me more guarante to be able to play in '43 when Japan is on defensive.

I played Japan always so far in PBEM, and i like to not mix things. so i am not interested in playing Japan in another PBEM.

I suggest the problem is the 2-day setting. Most folks including me play 1-day.

2days/t is great. you guys should try it sometime in some test PBEM. i was scared myself as well, till i tried against a player who wanted that setting.

it run twice faster, and believe me there are VERY FEW situations where you wanted 1d/t. it takes little more planning. but not very different.

anyway, i have 3 people asking so far. so hopefully i will get my game [:)]

Stick to your 2d/t 's. This approach is great. You'll find a taker. If my plate wasn't full, I'd take you up on it.[:D]

Hi, Everything that is bad in 1 day turns is twice as bad in two day turns,
(and 50 times as bad in 3 day turns)

try to play it for some time (some months in game time in a PBEM) and after a while you will see it's not that different. it takes a little more planning though. But after all, a good player plans any attack on details so most of times it shouldn't be a problem running at 2 days.

It adds depth to the game and proper planning of attacks take a bigger role.

after all, a good war plan shouldn't be affected in his success by the frequency you can change it (every 2 days or every 1 day) no? [:D]
