Is this game suitable for casual gamer like me , who started playing Panzer General and now CS , Panzer Campaign

Try very hard but unable to get into Uncommon Valor which i believe the WiTP is even tougher

So is FGP only for hardcore wargamer ?

Cheers

The games is ment to be an "entry level" wargame. so actually it is a good start for this hobby.

If you can play PzC then I'm sure this would be fine.

A certain number of wargames out there have a forbiddingly high learning curve, and some of the tactical modern era titles are the worst offenders! With this game we made a big effort to tone it down and keep it accessible. I have seen it rated 3 out of 10 for complexity on this forum and that sounds about right. If you have seen Highway to the Reich by Matrix / Panther you would have a good idea what Flashpoint would be like if the game mechanics were twice as complex.

We have also added a group of setup options that make it much easier to get started - you can see and even browse all the enemy units for example if you make the appropriate selection. There is a good tutorial that tells you how to set these settings and then walks you through a few turns so that you can see how it is supposed to unfold.

Mastering it takes work, but learning it is a relative breeze.

Of course, that's all just MHO.

Cheers, Rob.

P.S. - If you buy it and find it hard to get started, come back here and float a few questions. You can also PM me and tell me exactly what the problem seems to be. I might not be able to fix it but it would help to have the feedback to know what to do better next time.

I'm a grognard, and I enjoy the game. The dev staff is committed to it, and that makes it all the more enjoyable. Yes, it's simple and easy for most to master, but that makes it all the more fun. The AI does some pretty unpredictable moves, I like that, the fog of war aspect is included.

Bought the game and this game is fantastic , just nice for a not so veteran wargamer like me . Easy to pick up and fun to play

Nearly give this a miss , it will be one of my best buy of the year

Cheers

The learning curve is easy enough that you'll spend your time figuring out maneuver rather than figuring out the interface. Rather than order units directly, you give them standing engagement orders and move orders and let them handle unit level tactics. You spend your time trying to anticipate the enemy move and reacting to his counters.

The tactical subtleties are there, but the interface (IMHO) involves less minutae than the PG series.
