Gunny: Great site, brought back some old memories looking at the US Navy section, particularly the pix of the "Kingfisher" and "Avenger", I trained on both those aircraft. Thank You again.

Wow, Chief! You have been around for awhile. That old Avenger was a "BIG" plane, wasn't it?

Bill: In her day, and she was clumsy, but she were strong. Only got a few training flights in then they pulled them out of service and converted them to mail planes (cods), then one day they were gone. Same with the Kingfisher one day they were on the fantail, on a catapult, the next something that looked like an eggbeater upside down was there. (hehehe) And then yours truly was looking at a Neptune and Mercator Bomber, now these guys were big. In fact the P2V was bigger than a B29 in its own way and with only two engines at the time.
Ah, but then I was a young 18 year old full of P.. and vinegar now I'm dragging my tail hook.
