David Heath -> SPWAW v2.0 Time Check To Release (6/25/2000 6:22:00 AM)

Hi Everyone First I wanted to say that I am sorry for the delay. My DSL line went down and good old Bell Atlantic drag their feet. I personally feel the worst phone company in the world. But that discussion is for another time. I am getting ready to update the download page and upload the files once again. I will update the post as to my progress so everyone knows what is going on. Once again thank you for your suppor. David Heath

I comisserate with you on Hell Titanic. Can't wait for the patch. If someone had told me I would get Combat Mission, and a couple days later be unable to concentrait on it because I was waiting for a patch for a free wargame I would have had them carted off to the looney bin.

This might not be the place for such a rant but.... US West is just as bad. And more importantly, the baby bells still have an effective monopoly on providing local service. Why? Because they continue to kick in huge amounts of campaign contributions. The laws designed to allow competitors to enter the market are already on the books, they're just not enforced. This allows the baby bells to drag their feet. The result? Well, today's delay is just the first example. Hence, like many other areas of America, we have all the cost of privatized services, with all the effeciency of socialized services. Viva campaign finance reform. And thanks fellahs for working on the patch. Calvin

I have US West. I pay First World prices for Third World service. BTW don't use them as an ISP. They have the "we don't have to give you a data connection faster than 2400 baud attitude." Please don't blame me for bringing SA telephone service to the US. troopie

SCENE: A 30something man sits at a computer, methodically clicking one button on browser. Camera pans in to show the cursor over the 'Reload' button and the sound comes up to hear the man patiently humming the theme from Jeopardy over and over and over and over.....

Hmm.. at this point I'm gathering that the whole 300 meg download and it's 300 or so megs of varients are all being uploaded along with the smaller 1.0 to 2.0 patch. Am I correct in that assumption?

Spanjab -> (6/25/2000 9:04:00 AM)
