Kadrin -> Manilla and Politcal Points (5/15/2005 3:40:52 AM)

I heard someone mention on this forum that the Allies lose Political Points for fighting in Manilla. Is this true?

Do the Allies lose Political Points fighting anywhere else?

Thanks ahead of time for your response.

von Murrin -> RE: Manilla and Politcal Points (5/15/2005 3:47:59 AM)

You never lose PP's for fighting anywhere that I've seen.

Halsey -> RE: Manilla and Politcal Points (5/15/2005 3:49:43 AM)

No, that's a crock. Manila is the place to defend in the PI.

When they decide to stick it to the Allies by defending Manila, there will also be a penalty against the IJN player for mounting Normandy sized invasions during the war.[;)]

CapAndGown -> RE: Manilla and Politcal Points (5/15/2005 4:38:56 AM)

That was a joke by Nikademus. He was making fun of Macathur declaring Manilla an open city.

Halsey -> RE: Manilla and Politcal Points (5/15/2005 4:40:14 AM)

I know.[;)]

But now new players think he was stating a fact.

I prefer to make my "last stand" in the Philippines at Clark Field. That base produces 100+ supplies a turn!

Alas - production ceases as soon as an enemy unit enters the hex...

News to me! First I've heard of this! Really?!? Damn!

Also think about the terrain bonuses for fighting in the city or on Bataan

Yup - really - or so i've been told/read (Mr. Frag's posts), and experienced (never get any supply once the enemy enters the hex as far as i can determine).

Tough to get them factory workers to show up when they are being shot [;)]

Not like those tough Russian factory workers who kept turning out tanks even as their building was being attacked in Stalingrad. Guess Mac should have beefed up his secret police.[:-][:D]

Terminus -> RE: Manilla and Politcal Points (5/16/2005 8:27:21 PM)

Yeah, then he might have had them driving the newly built tanks into combat too, like the Russians did...
