Finally time to look forums :) I am the (unlucky) opponent. I was ready for CV vs CV combat as I was outside my search ranges and operating in hostile waters. I had 60% CAP for all fighters in my CV's. But, one thing I noticed was that my fighters were still directed to Pearl Harbor as I never really had not realised that it might have effect and have not noticed the possiblity to give targets for excorts. This could wery well explain the result. Anyway, result for this is that I am not quite sure if I have any resonable chances for a even minor defeat after this battle as from now allied will have air supremacy where ever he brings he's CV's. And my opponent had those 5 CV's, but I had a bit over 400 planes in my carriers. quote:

I can accept what you say there was a lot of luck involved but here we are talking about very experienced pilots at very short range , I could accept some of them being missing but all of them is a bit tall . You may be interested to know that I lost 200 planes ( about 20 to flak ) despite having about 30 or 40 Wildcats to about 80 Zero . I imagine the pilot capability was
