Corporal DK -> Reduce flak? (5/19/2005 1:15:35 AM)

I'm attacking enemy base as Japanese with over 100 000 troops enemyes (Noumea). Enemy flak is heavy. I have a about 150 level bombers near. What should I do to reduce flak so I can start with Ground attack. Should I bomb airfield? In my last few days no metter how much I damage airfield soon enemy engineers repaired the damage and I lost about 40 bombers at 15 000 altitude.Any sugestions?

There is no way to target exclusively AA units.
Port and airfield attack will cause casualties to those support units, AA included.
Always hit the airfield first. Then add in the port as a target, later.
Ground attacks will go after the strongest units, not necessarily AA.
More than likely combat LCU's.

In addition, if you use ground attack, they will fly as a seperate mission.
Port and airfield attack will fly together as one mission.

Start at high altitude, and reduce as you see the flak hits start to decrease. Pound em at high level then bring em down over time. This takes awhile if it's a large prepared base you're going after.[;)]

Interesting... I will try that... Thanks, Halsey.

No problem. It doesn't happen fast. This WILL take awhile.[;)]

The prolonged high altitude attacks will also help to train your units up.
Then they will get better results, later.
