kcflyer -> HTTR Manual (5/23/2005 8:05:44 PM)

I digital downloaded HTTR and later found out the boxed version came with a printed manual like in RDOA. I was told I could purchase one for an additional 10.00. Called Matrix and was told I could not and was dirrected to the Kinkos site to purchase it. (its not even listed )

I would like a manual and am willing to pay for one.

By our license agreement you can take the PDF to a print shop / copy shop and have one version printed.Point the clerk to the agreement if they ask.

The Kinkos "Doc Center" service is running out and wil not be availebl anymore, we wil switch to another service but canīt tell when it will be available.

For now, if you prefer online, can go to the Kinkos website and upload a document, they will either ship it or you can pick it up.

kcflyer,

I'm sorry but we have no option to purchase an additional manual for $10. In the store, you can buy either the old retail boxed copy (with printed manual) or the new digital download (with PDF manual). Due to store limitations we are not able to offer both at this time. This is in the process of being upgraded to allow game on demand (still no printed manual, but boxed) and a future option to allow print on demand for manuals.

At the present time your best bet is to print the manual yourself or go to a print shop and ask them to print it out for you in black and white, the cost should be low (we were able to get Kinko's down to under $5 in the past for a black and white spiral bound manual.

On the positive side, the digital download version you have already includes all the patches, wherease the older retail boxed version with printed manual is still the original release and would require additional patch downloads.

Regards,

- Erik

So if I want a manual other than a pdf, I would have to purchase the "boxed version" ? If I was not so mad at myself for my hasty purchase I might do that, heh. I do love the game, I just hate those damm pdf manuals ! I have to many pdf manals already from my many Matrix titles and the only manual I really look at is the one that shipped with RDOA, which is why this is such a big deal to me.

Just so you are aware, the HTTR manual while being well done is rather small print due to it's size. Depending on your eyesight, it might actually be something you don't want. Better off spending the bucks to print it at full size on real paper if your eyesight is not 20/20. The PDF came out after the fact due to a large number of us old timers having problems with the print size.

You also might just want to get the HTTR Strategy guide instead. It is definitely worth it's weight in gold. (beware, it too is PDF so you'll need to print it)

Purchased the strat guide also. It is being printed up by an on-line service.
