Arckon -> Downloading BII (5/25/2005 1:33:43 PM)

If I abort Stardownloader file can I download BII using a different downloading program?

Adam Parker -> RE: Downloading BII (5/25/2005 2:47:19 PM)

Star Downloader is still not working.

I now can't get past 606kb using it!

The file is showing as size unknown and time remaining unknown. I think this is the problem and it's with the actual download file.

I'm currently downloading without Star Downloader and the best speed I'm getting right now on ADSL in 15kbs. Realy bad. And again, file size is unknown.

I'm up to 190MB so fingers crossed but imo something is wrong with the download this time. Serves me right for getting the game on release day :-)

Adam, Arckon,

I placed orders myself last night and downloaded without an issue, as have others. I'm not sure what problem you have hit here but I'll check into it right away. Please e-mail me at erikr@matrixgames.com with your order number so that we can directly contact you both and resolve this. Thanks.

Regards,

- Erik

Thanks Eric have just successfully downloaded BII after reinstalling stardownloader, have sent a more detailed email to you which may be of use and may not.

Would definately like to state for all to see though:

all your efforts at Matrix are appreciated whether stated by us on the forum or not. I have no doubts you would have continued to have helped until this problem was resolved.

Thanks Arckon.

My thanks for the invite too Erik. Hey, did you get any sleep? [:D]

I might try re-installing Star Downloader. Thanks Arckon.

But the good news is, the download held together on its own first time. It took a while - the slowest download rate I've experienced to date but it worked, loaded successfully and Sicily looks good for this weekend.

Hope folks have very few other issues.

Cheers,
Adam.

Adam,

Please let me know if re-installing Star Downloader works as a test to re-download, even if you just abort the download once it start. I'm working with DR and it would be valuable to know before we go through more network investigations. I'm glad you were able to download successfully - if you would like us to try to find out why your download was so slow, please e-mail me with your order # and external IP address. Thanks.

Arckon,

I'm very glad a reinstall worked for you and thanks for the kind words.

Regards,

- Erik

JoeRockhead -> RE: Downloading BII (5/25/2005 5:37:51 PM)

I'm having problems as well. Not using stardownloader though, just direct. Shows no download time and download is at a turtle's pace. Is something wrong with download? Please help! At this rate i'll be retired before the download is complete. HELP!

Erik Rutins -> RE: Downloading BII (5/25/2005 5:50:15 PM)

Joe,

Please e-mail me with your order number at erikr@matrixgames.com and I'll get this looked at. Thanks.'

Joe,

Thanks, got your e-mails. I've asked customer support, and the store and UNIX team over at DR to work with you to investigate the cause to see if it's on their end and help you resolve this issue. You should be hearing from them shortly.

Regards,

- Erik
