Hello,

I've just downloaded TS Caesar and it didn't work from the start. The program installed .Net Framework 1.1 by itself and then I remove (by mistake) Managed Direct x 9.0. When starting the game, I got a blocked black screen 5 seconds after clicking on Campaign. So I downloaded and installed M. direct x 9 from Microsoft again, I uninstalled and reintalled TSJC but I have the same problem. I really have no idea of what to do now. Can you help me? Thank you [&:]

Ooohh [:@] And now, when I start TSJC all the links (to the game manual, to Matrix Games,...) everything works except of course the game itself. I click, nothing happens !!!!
HELP, HELP

Lysimachus,

This is a Managed DirectX issue. Sounds like you uninstalled the right version and then possibly downloaded and installed a different one that's not compatible. Microsoft isn't making this easy for us. Go to the /redist sub-folder of your installation and double click on the mdxredist102004.msi file. Let it do its thing and you should be back to working order.

Regards,

- Erik

Well, I did doubleclick. The first time it removed the previous version and the second time it did install Manager Direct x. But nothing has changed: I got a blocked black screen 5-10 seconds after starting the game. Why am I the one where it doesn't work?? [sm=Christo_pull_hair.gif]
More seriously, can it be something else?

Lysimachus,

Can you please post a DxDiag file and your latest .log file per the instructions in the pinned threads in this forum? Those should let us know what's going on if it's not a DirectX issue.

Regards,

- Erik

Resolved by updating to a newer video driver.
