CGSailor -> Number of Mines in Hex (5/30/2005 4:26:24 PM)

In the after action reports I often read players referring to the number of mines they've laid in a hex. Where can you find information about the presence of enemy mines, and the number of mines you have laid in a given hex?

Thanks.

The only way to find the number of mines you've laid in a hex is to go to the ship info screen for each ML in the task force.....it'll show you how many mines are loaded...

Then just add 'em all up for the total number of mines that will be dropped off.......

One problem is it seems some hexes have infinite mines. If the IJN puts it`s nasty MLs together and unloads them at the same hex 2 or 3 times there is an ungodly number of mines there.[:@]

Hello...

Not infinite. 35,535 mine limit in each hex. Assuming hex has 1000 mines, first sweep reduces to 500, second to 250, third to 250, fourth to 125 and so forth. Not cost effective to overload hex with mines. More effective to place in surrounding hexes.

Hope this helps...

Yes...But some sweeps seem more effective than others....
