Griffitz62 -> WiF for Vassal available (6/4/2005 3:55:07 AM)

For all that are interested, I have the WiF Classic module for Vassal available for free download.
The site is: www.theletterj.net
This will allow you to play WiF on the computer using PBEM or live play through the Vassal server (or play solo if you want as well).

Ken

I downloaded your Vassal game and it looks promising. If you know of anyone starting a PBEM game I am interesting in joining.

Wow! Thanks for this Griffitz aka Ken :)
Looks like a lot of fun!

Wow it's magnificient... I sure do want to play a game... If anyone else is interested it would be so cool ( WIF whitout the need for a ping pong table!)

Grotius -> RE: WiF for Vassal available (7/28/2005 3:46:12 AM)

Hmm, I could only bring up the Americas and Scandinavia maps, and I can't get the help files to show. Did I mess something up?

I would also be interested in starting a WiF game using vassal. Who is going to run the game? How many players?

John

Thanks for the positive comments. Grotius, I'm not sure why you can't get the rest of the maps to show. Since I don't know what you know about VASSAL, all I can recommend is that after you select New Game from the File menu, you select the power(s) you will be playing and then another box will pop up to allow you to choose which of the 4 main maps you will be playing with (and how they will be algined). It should work.

Just a little update, I am still working on the module and hope to have a new verison out soon. So far I have added AfA and MiF and am working on AsA. I also put in a hex grid for reporting moves, etc. I will also be adding in pre-defined set-ups that will have the Force Pools loaded with the counters for each power for the different sceanrios available. When all of this is in place I will make it available from the site. After that, I'm not suew which expansion to tackle next- PiF or SiF. Inputs always welcome, of course.

Ken

In reply to Grotius:

U have to catch the buttom line with the mouse and drag it up. So u minimise the window for the map to appear(hard word to spell) I had the same problem when I was checking it out. [8|]

Thanks, guys. I just had to click and drag the map from the very bottom of the window, it seemed.

This is one beautiful client! Woot!

Question for anyone that has played WiF on vassel:

Do you recommend setting up the boardgame and playing off cardboard in order to keep track of everything or do most of you just play using only the computer screen?

Thanks

John

Franck -> RE: WiF for Vassal available (8/4/2005 7:36:19 PM)

I will play using only the computer, in my oppinion this is the advantage of such a system you don't have to use a full room just to set up WIF...

By the way I have WiF final edition... There are all those shaded grey box in the rule for ASA, SiF etc... If I have the counters should I be abble to play with only those rules????

Cheese head, I have no experience what so ever whit vassal but if you or anyone is willing to play PBEM here is my e-mail: michaudfrancis@hotmail.com
