Will England have built transports to cross the channel? or is movement over the channel abstracted. if transports are needed can they be sunk?

Any naval division (heavy ships, ships, frigates or transports) can carry one land division (cav, inf or art) - so Britain has heaps of potential carriage potential. When building new ships, more capable vessels are more expensive - as you would expect, transports are cheap, but not much use in battle.
