I was having too many CTDs with 1.52 so I decided to go back to 1.5. Bad move, I uninstalled all WITP files. Downloaded 1.3 again, went to install and it wouldn't install to the DEFAULT directory so I had to manually choose the Matrix folder. Thought I was homefree...nope. For some reason the manuels don't come out of the patch. And the program will not run. I'll deal with the program problems (I donwloaded some security updates from Microsoft today so maybe that is it) after I get the manual.

I miss DOS, those were the days. WindowsXP and me don't like each other.

Any ideas? Am I supposed to start at 1.3?

P.S. The disk I ordered for emergencies when I did the DDL last year doesn't work. I never thought to check it last year.

What is the exact name of the file that you downloaded and are trying to install?

Hi, the file is "WarInThePacific-ComprehensivePatch-v130.zip".

It donwloads but wehn I install 1) no manual 2) it looks for a file. I can't tell which one because I deleted everything again. I will attempt again tomorrow.

Thats a PATCH which requires an already installed
game. If your trying to reinstall, you need the Game install done and only then can tou install the patch.

Assumig your trying re-install the game by installing the above what your trying to do is install the patch without the game installed, which would be a pre 1.30 Game Version.

So are you first re-installing game using the
Game install and then running the Patchs?

v130.zip isn't the game install and it sure would
be looking for game files to patch and so erroring out if game itself isn't already installed, to be patched.

Ah ha, that could be it it. My fault.

I guesss the next question is how do I reinstall the digital download if the disk they sent as a backup is no good?
