It's no surprise that his dispatches got censored, they put a totally different face on the bomb and its effects on people. Everyone should read this.

Whether or not we should have used the A bomb can be debated forever but it's totally different when you are actually there making desicions affecting the lives of millions of people. I once had to take a superviser position at work for 7 months and I would have done anything to get out of that job. Imagine being responsible for a World war for the last part of 1941, all of 1942,43,44, and half of 1945. I bet those guys were ready to do whatever it took to end that war. I'm not saying we should have or not use the bomb but it was a different time back then.
