Well??

Also can we order a hard copy, electronic downloads are such a pain, at 56.6 bbs that is!

Erik Rutins -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/21/2005 8:54:11 PM)

Combining a few previous replies:

The initial release will only be through our online store (and at Origins) for $39.99 Digital Download, $49.99 Boxed. We are working on a later retail release possibility, but no word on that yet. The initial release will be in English, but we plan to add French and German shortly after release.

As with all of our game on demand / digital download titles, we can't offer a printed manual at this time. The manual will be available as a searchable and printable E-Book. Between the game manual and the short tutorial manual, there's close to 200 pages of documentation. Boxed copies available on release will have full color DVD box and printed full color CD with serial number, shipped from either our warehouse in the US or the EU depending on which store you order from.

If a retail release becomes a reality down the line, we would hope to have a printed manual included there but I cannot promise a date or that it will happen for certain.

Crown of Glory should weigh in around 400Mb. Assuming you have around 640k DSL, it will take around 1 Hour and 20 minutes to download the full game. You'll get a serial number when you place the order and it will be e-mailed to you as well. If the download aborts or is corrupt, you can always re-download within the first 30 days after the order by going to www.findmyorder.com.

The download speed should not be affected by your geographic location. Your own internet connection and your internet provider will be the main determinants on the speed of your dowload as our servers have more than enough bandwidth to handle many, many simultaneous downloads.

We advise backing up the game installer to CD once you have downloaded it, writing the serial number on the CD and keeping it in a safe place. If you have any problems, just e-mail us at support@matrixgames.com

Regards,

- Erik

How many computers am I allowed to install it on? I have a home desktop, laptop and would like to install it on my computer at work (for those slow days of course [:D]). Is this ok?

Hanal -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/21/2005 10:54:55 PM)

I have all my Matrix games on my work PC, except for World at War, which unfortunately was the one game that my notebook could not handle.....

Erik Rutins -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/21/2005 11:11:18 PM)

You're allowed to have it on two PCs as long as you don't use both at the same time.

James Ward -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/21/2005 11:12:59 PM)

Thanks.

Guess my wife won't be using the home desktop for a while [:D][:D][:D]

oi_you_nutter -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/21/2005 11:18:37 PM)

will CoG be sold as digital download AND boxed copy for $49.99 ?

so we impatient people can download and play it while we wait for the pretty box and manual to arrive in the post ?

dpstafford -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/21/2005 11:20:06 PM)

Any "special" pricing for copies sold at Origins?

Erik Rutins -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/21/2005 11:21:55 PM)

Correct, as with our other titles there will be a download + box option for $49.99.

Origins will have our usual show special:

Boxed copies at conventions are sold for digital download prices, so you can get a boxed copy of Crown Of Glory at any convention we attend for $39.99 (provided we haven't sold out).

We also usually have a special of some sort like "buy two games, choose one of these for free", etc.

Regards,

- Erik

Becket -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/22/2005 5:25:16 PM)

Anyone else notice that Erik ducked the "when" part? [:D]

Erik Rutins -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/22/2005 6:00:00 PM)

Soon, young Jedi. Have patience...[8D]

zumHeuriger -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/22/2005 6:04:02 PM)

Since it is almost a month later - is WBC a show where there will be games for sale (like Crown of Glory)?

Cheers

Tom

Erik Rutins -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/22/2005 6:09:14 PM)

Yes, we will be at WBC and will have all of our games available for sale there.

Regards,

- Erik

Hi... I'm a newbie poster on this forum, but I've been following the progress of this game with great interest. It being relaesed June 30 is both good and bad for me... Good because it's soon and I can't wait to have the game. Bad because I just came home from school for the summer, so my laptop's internet connection (wireless) is unavailable.

I can download it to my home computer.. burn the cd.. and transfer it to my laptop correct? That's all I really need to do, but your quote here makes me wonder if internet connection is needed to play the game? (To check if only 1 copy of the game is being run). Would I still be able to play it without internet connection?

Thanks!

Hanal -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/25/2005 2:28:27 AM)

No you do not need an internet connection for it to run...there is no problem of saving the setup files on a CD and putting it on your notebook.....

You only need an internet connection for Multiplayer, not for playing it "alone"

Dayvit781 -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/25/2005 10:34:37 PM)

Thank you JP and Marc. I can't wait!

Kimse123 -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/27/2005 2:50:55 PM)

Hey there, i'm living in Denmark, and it is impossible for me to attend that convention, but why don't you make that kind of bargain, special price on your website, buy 2 games and get one for free or buy 3 games and get the cheapest for free. That would be something of interest to all us people who doesn't live near that convention, i myself would be very interested. Battles in normandy, battles in italy and crown of glory for the prize of 2.

Sincerely Kim Sandberg

Erik Rutins -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/27/2005 3:44:59 PM)

We usually do special discounts once a year, but as a general rule setting these things up is pretty complex and the accounting is a nightmare so we avoid it except in rare cases.

oi_you_nutter -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/27/2005 9:13:36 PM)

Digital download will be offered on the 30th

is that on the chime of midnight or sometime during the day ?

Erik Rutins -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/27/2005 9:23:00 PM)

We are hoping that it will be available by noon on the 30th.

ardilla -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/28/2005 10:40:11 AM)

Well, just 2 days to go.

I do live in Europe (Spain) and I wonder if I have to buy it from the Europe web store, or I can do it also from the US web site, since I want the DD, I guess for Box on demand from the Europe one, but for DD it makes no diference, maybe faster from Europe, but paying with $ will be more cheaper for us in the € (euro) zone.

Just a thought...

Erik Rutins -> RE: When Can We Order??? (6/28/2005 1:24:54 PM)

If you want the boxed version as well, order from the European store. Orders placed there are shipped from our warehouse in the EU, which significantly reduces shipping costs. For digital download only, it doesn't really matter which store you use, the only difference is in the currency displayed.
