Playing PBEM stock scen 15, 1.6 upgraded from 1.5. 2 groups in USAFFE broken down to squadrons. Changed HQ of all 6 breakdown squadrons to SWPac. Ran 2 turns in 1.6 and now all squadrons are back to USAFFE even though 1 group in in DEI and the other is in Australia.

Thanks

Computer Zone control on?

rogueusmc -> RE: New Bug (6/26/2005 3:21:26 AM)

Or does the OOB update jack with things?

jubail1999 -> RE: New Bug (6/26/2005 5:08:53 AM)

Mr. Frag,

Nope, I'm in control (bwaaahhahahaha) [:D]

Seriously, I have no computer control of anything

Hi
not clear from post, were the groups broken down under 1.5 or under 1.6?

Michael

Mr.Frag -> RE: New Bug (6/26/2005 6:26:54 AM)

did you merge 'em back together? (ie: you pp'd them while split then merged?)

jubail1999 -> RE: New Bug (6/26/2005 12:14:55 PM)

Split in 1.5, PPD the split groups in 1.5, updated to 1.6 including the OOB update by my Japanese opponent, never regrouped before I noticed that the split squadrons had all reverted back to USAAFE. Experimented with both groups the turn I noticed the reversion, and the recombined Groups also show USAAFE as the HQ.

Hi
is possible the HQs changed back while still playing v1.5.[&:]

I know that that sort of thing had happened to me in games played prior to v1.6...[IIRC, values not set/cleared properly with air group fragments]
Also, when split units are combined they remember/revert to their parent unit's original Hq.

I've had fragments revert back to USAAF. I paid the PPs and moved the ready planes. Later, I went to move more to join the parent and the fragment had reverted back to restricted command. It wasn't that big of a deal to me.

Yep, that is the accepted risk of trying to convert parts of the unit over. There is only one location to store the HQ. Should a unit merge, it will loose the fact that it was converted and resume the original HQ.

If you don't want the risk, only change HQ's on a unit that is complete (no /1 etc and no /a etc parts around). Of course that means you will be paying more PP for the conversion, but it is a permanent change, not a borrowing ...

rogueusmc -> RE: New Bug (6/27/2005 12:57:46 AM)

It was a whole when I paid the PPs. I move the flyable aircraft and the remnant left behind reverted back to USAAF.
