patman -> winzip error wz32.dll (7/1/2001 9:16:00 AM)

Hi All I have downloaded SPWAW V5.05 381mb on 2 occasions. Each time I attempt to unzip with WINZIP V 7 it I get the following winzip error: Dll: C:\Program Files\WinZip\WZ32.DLL - 10/17/1998 7:00 AM Testing ... testing: Spwaw-v50-Internet.exe Error: invalid compressed data to inflate At least one error was detected in C:/WINDOWS/Desktop/Downloads/Spwaw-v501-Internet2.zip. I also attempted to unzip with PKZIP (new version) which gives me an "incorrect table file" error and WINACE which gives me a "CRC error". I have WIN98 ME. I have a 56k modem in Australia and have resumed downloading 8 times. Maybe this corrupted some of the files?. This is a huge file, 380mb and takes me about 20 hours spread over a week to download. So as I have done this twice I was hoping that someone may be able to shed some light on what i can do for a solution. The game looks fantastic and I am commited to continue one way or the other. I just need some feedback before I attempt a 3rd download and another 20 hours. :confused: regards Pat

Unfortunately it sounds like your downloads are corrupted, you can try it from one of the other gamers site which sometimes prove to be a little faster at times. Here is one that I use because Matrix Servers seem over taxed at times. http://www.fprado.com/armorsite/spwaw_downloads.htm

Hi there, It osunds like you are getting corrupted files. This is why you get the CRC error and all the others. Your best bet will be to find a frined with a high-speed connection and a CD-burner and a really good downloading manager: wget, go!zilla, netvampire, .... Also, with Go!zilla you can check wich site is the fastest for you... or which one is closest to you (minimum number of 'hops'). I live in the USA, so I cannot help you here :( . Hope this helps Sinner
