minor countries (Full Version)

I am just learning the game and playing as Sweden, basically to stay out
of the way as much as possible while getting the hang of things.
After a couple of moves Denmark sent some militia into my provinces.

They are not a threat or hostile but I dont want them wandering around
without my say so if possible.

As you cant seem to make treaties with minors, short of declaring war
how do I stop them wandering in, which seems a little strange.

Unless, which is quite possible, I am missing something obvious.

are you sure that the militias are in your provinces, and not in Norway? Often, the position of the items in the strategic map (troops, diplomats, flags for the attitude) is strange, moved from the border of the country in which they really are..
For example, in a game, i had a Prussian flag (attitude ones) on one of my province: it simply belonged to a country near to that province...

I've had the same experience as Dogsoldier, rather irritating those leisurely wandering Danes through my lush Swedish countryside.

every time a nation moves troops on your territory, you can choose to give an ultimatum, declare war or ignore it.. so, maybe they aren't really on your land..

Thankyou for the replies.

Playing 1805 scenario
It was one militia each into Malmo and Gothenberg.

The Danes have no diplomatic standing (good or bad) with anybody at the start.
As I said it just seemed odd that they could wander in without any permission.
Just seems as though its an oddity in the game (to me anyway), not a big deal
I know, but I wondered what I could do about it.
Seems I will just have to kick the crap out of them and get some combat practice
at the same time.

I have started a 1805 campaign with Sweden, and i have seen those militias:in my campaign they moved immeditely back to Denmark, but they really were in Sweden... and i don't know why [&:]
