Boy, this is a quiet forum.

Maybe repackaging the same game and reselling it for $50 a pop isn't going over so well? KP-Bin-BiI seems like its all basically the same game.

Oh well, I guess its just me, but the idea of paying $50 to get what's basically new scenarios for a game I've already got doesn't appeal to me much.

Well............. with an opening line like that, there's a good chance it won't be quiet too much longer!!!! [:'(]

There is not alot to talk about really. I think all of the DBOWW2 should have the same main forum and then subfourms for each title.

You also have to remember that the real discussion on these games are at the Run5 forums. Another unfortunate event that makes the forums here dead and people like you commenting about it. Sort of makes the game look bad with a dead forum.

Oh well I'm not in charge of Matrix [:D]

Youīre way off in both points.

Itīs a series of games with developing features and updated rules.

The reason why the KP/BIN/BII forums are quiet here is that "Run5" ( http://ssg.com.au/forums/ ) is the place where the gamers of this series hang out. Itīs very active, with tons of free addon scenarios too [;)]

Chirp chirp chirp ... Chirp chirp chirp ... sometimes I come to this forum just so I can hear myself think. It's good to get away from it all sometimes. [;)]

Tomus -> RE: quiet (7/13/2005 5:52:14 PM)

I used to think the same way about this series, but I have drastically changed my mind. I loved KP and played it to death and still do, I also play Bin and now BiI. TBH they have stayed in my harddrive for ages and are each worth the full price per game. Trust me they are worth having. Plus there are loads of additional scenarios being touted.

I do think that Matrix Games should publicise the free stuff a bit more and make more of a song and dance about it. As I agree this forum is dead.

I have come to the conclusion that you have to pay the amount to keep series wargaming as a hobby alive. The commerical market place just doesn't seem to want these games any more and while I love RTW and its like you can't beat proper historical gaming.

I just wish and I would gladly pay for it that a deluxe version of these games was available, like you used to get back in the 1990's, with a case, CD, colour manaual, maps etc etc. I really think Matrix should explore this avenue. Maybe not at retail but definitely mail order. I might take this to the general forums.

When you have a series of games, those games by their nature are pretty much the same.

BII has new features, new maps and new scenarios.

If you made a series, how would you make the second game different to the first? Apart from new features, new maps and new scenarios, what else would you add?

Not only that, it takes a different approach to play this game well. The Italian terrain is brutal. I also own BIN, and BII is worth every penny. Count me as a customer on their next release.

nukkxx5058 -> RE: quiet (8/30/2005 1:35:14 AM)

I am new to this game (didn't play KP nor BIN before). But appart the fact that SSG engine is great, I think that fighing in Italy is a big change from more classical battlefields. The italian battlefield is the element which decided to buy the game. Also, BII mods are great (War in Europe for instance). I don't know about mods in other games of the series (KP, BIN) but in BII it seems to offer nearly infinite possibilities.

Regarding the forum, run5 forum is pretty active and I get answers to my questions very quickly. Well, exept today because the forum is off for maintenance :-(

Voila.
