I cannot remember where I saw discussion on the game log, but since the PBEM uses it to track player actions, I will put it in this thread.

Suggested additions to the game log possible actions

4.4.5 Naval Combat
...
Including units and combat type
(for Walther aborts)
Entry#, [NCWA], Transaction#, SUB Unit#, Old Location, New Location
...
Pre-fire attack
Entry#, [NCPT], Transaction#, MWIF, ASW Factors, # of Ships/Targets (naval combat anti-air table)
Entry#, [NCPR], Transaction#, MWIF, ASW Roll# (naval combat anti-air roll)
...

For the Pre-fire attack, the results are handled like AA fire. For every 10pts 'X' result, for any remaining 5 'D' result, and Sub attack factors minus remainder less than 5.

I have to look at your suggestions in detail for both the PEBM and Game Record Log modifications. When I get a chance, I will. Both those documents will be reread with a critical eye prior to writing code for them.

Still, I would have liked to have excluded Cruisers and Convoys so my task list would be shorter. But that decision is history, not to be reenacted.

And we're very glad that David won that argument ... [:D][:D][:D][;)]

The only way for me to play such a game is by PBEM. No other method will suffice.

I have never played this game and know nothing about it.

In terms of secure dice rolls, and displaying the dice rolls, please contact the good folks over at SSG. They solved the problem years ago.

In terms of stopping a cheat from playing the turn over and over again to get the desired result, again SSG can advise.

In terms of “impulses”  where the opponent needs to respond, let the opponent respond by email.

If this drags the game out to hundreds of turns the true believers don’t care.  But if you get rid of these "impulses" you will get another customer.
