ahauschild -> Prussia Wins - Thoughts and Ending Picture (7/14/2005 10:37:20 PM)

Ok, the game was played on normal settings, 15 years, balanced scenario. Of course, being German I played the Prussians. Overall Sweden, Brittan, Russia, France and Austria continiued to declare war on me, with me again and again pounding them into the ground. I really have not figured out a way that I would lose a Tactical Battle against the Computer. Turkey and Spain left me alone, but the odd part is, I could never declare war on Turkey, even when they moved about 700k of troops into Berlin and stayed there for pretty much 2 or 3 years. They would sally out once in a while to squash russia or Austria after I pounded them, but they just seemed to like parking their troops in Berlin. I tried ultimatumes, declare war for tresspassing, tresspassing on their land and refusing to leave, nope, my war declarations against them never where taken serious. I suspect the Sultan was in his palace, and whenever my messenger came to declare war, he musta just send him to his hareem to never be seen again. Also the vic condition was highst glory, and I did end up with the highest glory, but the game told me the next turn that I did not achive my goal, bug? Some thoughts. Russia, Austria and Sweden had a death wish. I could see the first war, they had full troops and had a chance, but they pretty much kept declaring war on me after the cool of period, even if they had only their home province left, and their combined army was less then one of my corps. This needs to be looked at. I really wanted to squash the french and try a grab for England, but had to keep diverting my two main armys from sweden, to russia to Austria, never really fighting any big battles anymore, they had no troops, but to occupy the home province and to get them to surrender so I could continiue with the real conquest. Countries that have no offensive armys to speak of, and posibly still have low moral from surrendering to another country, should not be so gung ho to get into war again. Maybe they need to compare the countries army, but multiplying each units personal against that units moral factor, then adding it all up. Do the same with their own, and if the numbers are realy stacked against them, they would not declare war. Also maybe they should have a minimum army requirement to declare war. Example a 60k army at home and a 100 k army to attack with. I contribute the large part of lands i captured to the idiotic gung ho mentaly of the AI, if he does not like you, he will declare war against you, even if you have less then 0% chance of winning this war. Not very realistic there, I mean, lets face it, half of the middle east countries hate England and the USA's guts, but they would never declare an open war on the usa because they know they have no chance in hell to win. So two things I think need to be looked at. Why did Turkey and I have this invunerable declare war state. And why did the totaly beaten nations, down to one province and probl less then 60k in low moral troops against a country that had 600k of the highest quality troops continiue to declare war.
