I was frustrated with poor results playing Britain trying to help Austria so I took the two British armies you start with and headed for the sunny confines of Spain.I only wanted to take a few turns at the start to see what would happen,so did no adjustment to development or economy except full taxes and no advisors. After laying down supply depots,I landed and disembarked, force marching to New Castile. Most of the Spanish army must have gone East and after 4 turns,Spain surrendered I asked for two provinces that border the provinces with France givng me close proximity to Southern France, to put supply depots.Austria had already surrendered to France and the French had won many battles so their glory was in the 650 range only needing to get to 1000.I thought they had if for sure, however I did notice that Russia and Prussia had sizeable armies and Turkey was catching up in glory as well. After a few turns I moved into Southern France expecting to knock off and plunder a few provinces. As I moved up North I noticed Paris was burning and both Prussia and Russia were sieging Paris.I force marched into Paris to join them.My glory was around 350 at this point.A sizeable French army came toward Paris but were met by a Russian army a few provinces away. After 5 turns Paris surrendered to all 3 countries.Frances glory went into the toilet while mine and turkeys shot up after I got Brittany and Normandy in the Surrender Treaty.I also removed Napolean and 3 other generals from the French Army.I declared myself an Empire and after a few battles while moving to Egypt and taking it over I won.For 3/4 of the game I did nothing to my econ/dev/military and won with the armies I started with.I was broke but had only a few minor challenges from Russia and Prussia when I became the bad boy for a few turns. All I did economically was agree to every trade that was offered me and put my taxes on full. The large French Army seemed to be stuck to the North East while Paris was being sieged.Should this have been that easy to win on medium level or was it just luck?

At levels bordering on Bonaparte, your Brits would have more likely to be sucked into the Spanish Ulcer, unless you took a Spanish or Portugal province with a port in case for an exit strategy. My 200,000 strong Brits got decimated and finally annihilated at Spanish hands following a lost battle. My main army was forced to retreat to Spanish hinterland, supply being cut off, awaiting further blows from Spaniads.

Your reckless fiscal policy left you penniless and incapacitated for keeping your troopers on field should your opponents gave up less soon.

Actually, I've found that Gibralter makes a pretty good staging area for attacking the Spanish underbelly. Just build a depot, pile some troops in and start marching north.

So making the tiny tip impregnable would be desirable as far as playing Britain goes.
