ORIGINAL: Bodhi Any any idea how task forces made up from ships of more than one nation work? I've just had two separate multinational TFs, one a mine warfare and one a transport, both of which were subdivided when they got to the nearest major port to their final destinations. In both cases the original TF commander was also a commander of one of the ships in the TF. (Probably incidental, but both TF commanders were the ship captains of US Navy vessels, even though the majority of ships in both TFs weren't US Navy). After sub-dividing, all the new TFs still had the same TF commander as the original TF, even though he was still both the ship commander and TF commander in the now single ship US Navy TF. Luckily there weren't any loses in these operations, but has anyone any idea what would have happened to the TF commanders if the US Navy ship with the orginal commander had been gone down with his ship, or conversely what would have happened to the US Navy single ship TF if one of the other single ship TFs commander had been lost? We've seen this one - we call it the "cloning bug" ... I've got several Japanese subs that travelled to the battle zone in 1 TF ( I was lazy ) but split apart after arriving ... now I have them all commanded by LCDR Lopez, P ... fortuntately all the Lopez brothers are 77 leadership 88 initiative .. and they sink ships ... so I'm not complaining !!! But haven't found out yet ... what happens if they get sunk ... and the real ship they ( he ) are riding on ( if any ) is probably a MSW in San Diego ... so hopefully they ( he ) are nice and safe ! But I don't think it has to do with more than one nation.
