John III -> Sunk CV Air Groups and New Carriers (8/6/2005 6:50:03 PM)

Hey Everyone.

I have a question about using Carrier Trained Air Groups (Zeros and Kates) from sunken carriers. I have groups from my sunken Hiryu and Junyo who have completely filled back out in strength and I want to place them back into my Carrier Fleet. Which is the best way to do this?

Thanks for the advice!

I assume you want to exchange these groups for less experienced ones that are already in service on carriers? Just take the old ones off, and put the other ones off using the Transfer to Base and Transfer to Ship functions, making sure that none of the air groups are attached to restricted commands, i.e. Home Defence Force. If they are, they can't be moved, and you'll have to pay PP's to change their HQ.

The aircrews from my sunk Hornet fought for a while but do not accept replacements. So slowly but surly they reduce to zero and then disappear. This may be because the Hornet is comming back in a year or two and so the airgroups may be placed there.

For the Japanese can't you just transfer them to the carrier. Assuming there is space available of course. Or you can use them to rebuild damaged groups with trained pilots. Trasnfer carrier group to land base then use disband command. All pilots and planes go to the carrier group and you get the squadren back in 90 days.

OK. Makes some sense. I'll do that on my way down to Noumea to visit Moses and his FOUR fleet carriers! [:D][:D]
