Hi.

I'm getting transferred overseas, so decided to give my Dell desktop to my mother. Since she goes ballistic upon seeing icons for WitP, HttR, etc, (which I want to keep for visits!) I set up a new user account for her.

Accessing any MS Office product: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc, from her account now causes numerous pop-up error messages to be displayed: requesting the CD, files not found, etc. However, after I cancel through these pop-ups, usually about 10 or so, the programs seem to work normally. Is there anyway to correct this problem simply?

- There is no problem from my user account (the admin account).
- I don't have the MS Office CD, as I had the computer loaded at work. And it would not be until September that I could lay my hands on it.

Related question: I need to transfer her Outlook folders (and messages). But I can't find them on her old computer. Where are they?

Sincerely,

Cassius

The easiest way is to reinstall Office from her account. Can be to the same locations - just make sure you say YES when it asks you if you want all accounts on that computer to be able to use the softeware. Otherwise your account will have the same sort of problems.

Easiest way to transfer email is to archive them as a .pst file to a location like the desktop that is easy to find and then burn it to a CD, or if on a network, just transfer to the new desktop, then open the archive file and either copy them, or just leave them as an archive in tehnew machine.
