BlackDog_slith -> Question about Engine Factories (8/10/2005 6:30:49 PM)

Hi all,

I am still working on the many aspects of Japanese production, and am puzzled to see that several engine types are not used by any plane on the Japanese side : Ishikawajima, Mansyu, Nissan, Kokusai, Toyoda are not used by planes, so what's the point of putting them in the game ??? Of course I can (and will) convert those factories to produce more Nakajima and a few other types, but I am wondering why those engines are included in WITP.

Don't know, its been asked before, my hunch is that they are there for modders who want to add planes that are not preesntly included. I think someone said one of those engines is actually a jet engine that was used in a prototype late war.

Thanks for your reply, sorry to ask something already answered (as told in another post, I am still a relative newbie and did not read posts since start).

And maybe this question would have been better posted on general witp forum rather than in War Room...

Some of the engines you mention come with aircrfat that come later in war but some are not needed at all.

I think those are last remains of planned but not implemented aircraft that are now absent from OOB...
