Cavalry can be used to screen and protect your artillery when it is moving or setting up. Also, cavalry can be used, if you have enough units, to do a Canae on the other fellow by simply swinging two arms of pure cavalry (followed as quickly as possible by a few inf units) to go around the rear of the enemy army. This causes the AI player to hold back inf, cav, and artillery to try and stop them (do not engage right away, take a few casualties to burn up enemy munitions). This allows your infantry and artillery to press forward aggressivly and lock the enemy in place. Then the cavalry can press in to their rear and surround them. I have captured about 80% of 4 Austrian corps this way. Tim
