I'd have to go with the scene in "Saving Private Ryan" where the German sniper is looking through his scope...and for a split second sees the American sniper pointing his gun right at him, and he pulls the trigger...

Bullet shatters German sniper's scope approximately 3 microseconds before it shatters his face....

YEAH!

I think the death of the medic in the same film is considerably more emotional

james caan's character in the godfather

Tankerace -> RE: Best death ever! (8/29/2005 12:32:29 AM)

Ooh, how about Harvey Korman's death scene in Blazing Saddles.

rhondabrwn -> RE: Best death ever! (8/29/2005 5:57:34 AM)

I can think of some interesting death scenes in "Lust in the Dust" with Devine and Tab Hunter (if you know what I'm talking about) [:D][:D][:D]

No, No, No... The Best death was the old man in the Bring Out Yer Dead scene in M. Python's Holy Grail.

Python

watchtower -> RE: Best death ever! (8/30/2005 12:36:10 AM)

Leon (jean Reno) taking out the evil Gary oldman in Leon (wonderful film - must have seen it a dozen times and still love it)

and the stupid Knight in Holy Grail " I'll bite yer legs off"

anarchyintheuk -> RE: Best death ever! (8/30/2005 12:46:11 AM)

Stellan Skaarsgard's (sp?) character in Hunt for Red October and Mickey Rooney getting whacked in Bridges Over Toko-Ri (its good any time he dies in a film and not because of the acting).

DandricSturm -> RE: Best death ever! (8/30/2005 1:26:28 AM)

Willem Dafoe in Flight of the Intruder.

"I'd do it for you Sandy."

"Consult the book of armaments"

As for the actual topic of this thread I have to agree with it being Major Kong in Dr. Strangelove. Best line from that one was "You can't fight in here...this is the war room"[:-]

Brolin -> RE: Best death ever! (8/30/2005 11:53:48 PM)

The Shootist - John Wayne
Yep, the whole movie.

ilovestrategy -> RE: Best death ever! (8/31/2005 5:38:52 AM)

In "It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world" at the beginning when that old man dies and kicks that bucket. I saw that and was laughing my <bleep!> off [:D][:D][:D][:D]

AdmiralN -> RE: Best death ever! (8/31/2005 10:35:01 PM)

Rade Serbedgia, as Boris the Blade (aka Boris the Bullet-dodger), in "Snatch"... Vinnie Jones (Bullet Tooth Tony) empties a full Desert Eagle load on him, while Boris bleeding on the ground keeps teasing him...[8D][8D]

Great movie!
