I am sure its alot more fun to have battles of 200,000
plus per side but this is very much a rarity during this period. If the new version has regimental battles
hopefully smaller battles can be done as regimental and
have the flavor of these big slugfests.
My point on this post is that during my current game
(1805-1820) Russia was in constant war with me (France)
all this time. By 1815 I had 160,000 prisoners held
outside Paris inc the Tzar. Their national morale was
-835 or so. By 1820 the prisoner count topped 200,000
and Russian morale was -1090 yet Russia would never
accept a cease fire or peace treaty. I was smashing
armies of 20,000-80,000 about 7-9 times a year plus
numerous Cossack units.
I think and hope that a future patch or version will
have nations not hold out for such an incredible
period with such fantastic losses. Austria fell just
after Austerlitz/Ulm and Russia after Austerlitz,
Eylau, Friedland. This duel to the death is too much
(tho fun in the battles). Loss of a monarch and such
field losses and number of lost battles would force
any nation of the period into a ceasefire and then
rapidly into capitulation and peace (at least for a
while). I think it was mentioned about POWs being
counted towards casualties (they should be, your
losses in a battle would include dead, wounded, and
captured).

I think at morale less than -1000 you will soon have Russias surrender [:)]

it was -800 or more for 3 years and more than -1000 for
2 more years! The game ended at the 15 year mark before they would ever surrender. The only way to get
Russia (perhaps Sweden or Britain too) to surrender it
appears is to march into their capitol. Russia tho
requires treaties with Prussia and Austria to keep em
off your back long enough. You'd think after 15 years
of lost battles, over 200,000 pows and as many dead and
wounded, and their Tzar in custody for years they would
give up!

My first guess, from your description, is that you didn't actually have troops inside Russia - the surrender due to low morale code was tweaked to only surrender to people with forces in the country's territory at my urging to deal with silly situations where (for example) Britain and Turkey attack Prussia, and when Prussia is forced bu insurrectionists to surrender, they surrender to Turkey (who has no troops in their country) rather than Britain who in my example has troops all over Prussia). I suspect that if you move a single division into Russian territory, they will imediately surrender to you.

Would you please try that and let us know how you go? If that doesn't work, try a corps or army please.
