I am having trouble with the CoG "advisor" screens on my Compaq Presario laptop. They come up corrupted, with components missing and/or see-through. I am running CoG v1.1, DirectX 9.0c, and have a Mobility Radeon 9200 graphics card. Any ideas anyone?

It may be a DPI issue. Try restoring your DPI settings to the default setting. Hopefully this will do the trick.

The DPI issue is on our list of things to fix.

DPI?

Sorry, don't undestand - I though "DPI" was a printer resolution thing. Where and how do I set DPI to default in the context of CoG?

Open Display Properties | Settings | Advanced | General

then in the Display box there's a pulldown menu for DPI settings. Try "Normal Size 96 DPI."

To get to Display Properties, you can right-click on your desktop and choose "Properties" from the popup menu.

Change your DPI settings to the default / normal 96dpi. To do this Right Click on Desktop > PROPERTIES > SETTINGS > ADVANCED

Thanks, that has fixed it.

Now, follow-on query - is there any way to _slow_down_ the action in the detailed battle screen? Things move so fast, especially the combat results, that it is very hard to follow what is going on!

Have you tried the delay bar at the bottom of the screen?

(There is a manual error that falsely describes this as having something to do with unit delay....it's really a speed bar.)
