matzo -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/20/2005 10:00:02 AM)

I have a few questions. What is the turn order? Do we need a password? Can we take someone out of the game (or skip there turn) if we dont hear from them for a couple of weeks to keep the game going?

BossGnome -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/20/2005 10:05:06 AM)

we cannot replace a human player by a computer, so let's hope we will not have any defections. The turn order is the same as the one where you start a single player game, starting from the top. So france first, Britain second, and so on. You do not need a password (at least I haven't made one so if you do need a password we are in deep trouble!). I propose to castrate anyone who leaves without telling us.

Archinerd -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/20/2005 5:24:26 PM)

Which scenario are we playing?

Ccbasin -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/20/2005 5:34:49 PM)

Just wanted to let everyone I have recieved the file from England and I will do my turn tonight. I am trapped at work right now.

jvgfanatic -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/21/2005 12:06:19 AM)

Hey, I'm so glad you folks got this kick started. I got so busy here damnit and still am. I've put maybe 15 mins into CoG since my last post (wah!).

Anyway, enough of that. Enjoy your game. I look forward to reading about it :)

Ccbasin -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/21/2005 5:52:08 AM)

Achinerd, I sent the file on to you. Let me know if you got it.

Archinerd -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/21/2005 7:46:44 AM)

I have recieved it, but I am still trying to figure out how to load it. Any hints?

BossGnome -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/21/2005 7:56:05 AM)

um no clue havent loaded one myself... Ccbasin how did you load yours? Anyways its a good thing the turns are going around...

Archinerd -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/21/2005 8:16:28 AM)

The problem seems to be that I cannot save the file as the correct file type. I can only save it as an html.

BossGnome -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/21/2005 10:47:50 AM)

and you are saving it using the game? this might be a question for the mods...

garoco -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/21/2005 1:51:28 PM)

Remember upgrade with the new patch v1.1 all the players and please read the topic about Status Policy to effects of Treaty (agressive, trade with, alliance) and trade (export or import)

Ccbasin -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/21/2005 3:29:06 PM)

Achinerd, I couldnt load it up from hotmail. I had to send it to my family's personal account to get it. Save to the desktop and openb the .sve file. Should be goos to go then.

Peever -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/21/2005 4:22:15 PM)

Sorry to see you guys are having trouble getting your turn. I hope you got it figured out. Just in case you didn't here is what I did:

Detach the files from your email (you can place them anywhere on your pc and I did did desktop). Then load up the game and chose "Load PBEM" and then open the detached file from your email. Complete your turn then press the "End Turn" button. The game should inform you that it saved the files. Go to your email and attach the two files from the PBEM folder in your CoG directory.

Archinerd -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/21/2005 4:26:34 PM)

Peever, I tried to do what you are describing, but it wasn't working. I think the ccbasin is right, the saves are not compatible with hotmail. I'll use my other e-mail to open them, unfortunatly I won't be able to do it until I get home from work. Sorry for the delay, but hopefully we'll get all the kinks out and this will go smoother in the future.

Archinerd -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/22/2005 2:01:51 AM)

I forwarded the save to my other e-mail account. It is working fine, now I just have to play the turn, I shall have it along this evening.
It seems hotmail does not support PBEM.

garoco -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/22/2005 3:52:41 AM)

I had problems with the files please send me using winzip to both files. Thanks in advance
Gabriel (Turkey player)

Archinerd -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/22/2005 4:51:37 AM)

garoco -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/22/2005 4:36:02 PM)

Hi BossGnome
Thanks file send yet to Spain
Regards

matzo -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/22/2005 8:28:23 PM)

I recieved the file but am unable to open it (my computer is not recognizing the file) . I have windows xp and comcast high speed internet for email. Any one have any recommondations. It is telling me that the file type is unknown so I dont know what program to look for to open it. It was sent to me via a hotmail address. Does that mean anything? Thanks.

matzo -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/22/2005 11:55:06 PM)

I think I have it figured out. I loaded a winzip program. I have taken my turn and sent it to Boss Gnome. He will let me know if he got it ok. Thanks for the help. Sorry for the slow down.

BossGnome -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/23/2005 9:58:02 AM)

there is a small problem with the turn matzo sent me. It still says "spa." at the end of the turn, and not "fra." as it should say. I am not sure you ended your turn correctly, matzo.

garoco -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/23/2005 1:51:03 PM)

Is possible that Matzo had clicked end of turn, but sent the files wrong, I suggest that Matzo review his folder and look if exist the same file but with the extension. fra, then he will send both files rpe and sve [8D]

matzo -> RE: New Players PBEM (9/23/2005 11:18:17 PM)

I have done what you recommended Garco and BossGnome has recieved those files. Game on. Sorry about the delay everyone. I am new to this. I should have all the kinks worked out by the next turn. Thanks.[&o]
