The Dude -> What to do now? (9/8/2005 3:04:10 AM)

Its APR15/43 in a JAP vs AI 1.6 scen 15.

I have captured PM, Lunga, Northern China, and Ceylon in addtion to the historical stuff.
The Allies are pecking at the outskirts but so far no real threat. my carriers are intact, some dmgd and others in refit. pilot quality is ok but defintly declineing. In the next 6 onths i'll get all the Amagis and the Chiyodas. I just got the Taiho.

All my Home Guard Inf Divs have been transferred to the solomons and PM. I have positioned my Kwantung Army troops to postions which allow them to attack Russia within a week of deciding to do so. My China campaign is working out and i foresee the capture of their last base with in 6 months. My China air units have very high exp (high 80s) and are a very good reserve. In 60 days i will recieve numerous divs that while fitting out can take over garrison duties from full stregth divs. At Colombo i have 9 Divs and 3 bdes at full stregth.

I was planning an invasion of india at ther southern tip and advacing to the madras hyderabad line.

within 60 days i will have aprrox 30 divs free for furthur ops. I have the air and nval assets to support them.

Any thought or suggestions?

stop playing AI and play only PBEM. Then youŽll always know something to do! [:)]

It is actually not that unusual, there have already been people reporting here which did exactly that. First spank the allied AI on all fronts and then, e.g. after '43 auto-victory switched sides to organize the allied counter-attack. And once the steam-roller started moving they switched back to Japan to fight the last stand [:)]

Well seeing as you have nothing to loose.....why not advance on India as you suggested and to test how good you really are have a stab at the rooshans at the sometime. Nothing better than a three front war to keep the ol'brain working.

Well I went ahead and did that. I landed 9 divs at trivandrum captured banglore and tried to do a Vicksburg on Madras but the Brits came up behind me and bushwacked me.

My CEA is bogged down outside of Chungking and wont be avaialable anytime soon.
And my Aleutian campaign is going now where fast.
Russia will be invaded within the next month and hopefully will be the bright spot of my camapign

Why not clean up India, China and Russia, and then invade Australia. Not necessarily in that order.

Then switch sides.

The US should still win in the end, after they advance on a narrow front from Midway to Wake to Marcus to Iwo to Okinawa, and then firebomb and A Bomb Tokyo et al.

I suspect the AI would have a real problem coping with defending everything. There will be 38 Japanese ground units each in Brisbane, Karachi, and Rabaul and 2 in Iwo. Just organize the whole USMC into about three corps size amphibious TFs with army tanks and enigneers added and have the combined 3 5 and 7 fleets insert them in the heart of the empire.
