John, is this permanent? Was it ever otherwise?
That is really bothering me :/

WO1GKW -> RE: Can not access http://www.locknloadgame.com/ (9/11/2005 2:47:38 PM)

I haven't been able to get it for over a week. I started to have problems getting on when I returned from FT Rucker in August. It would start to take a while, then it got longer and longer. Now I can't get it at all!

The site has some serious speed issues as it seems. It takes forever for me to load it.

Also the javascript links donīt work

That's a poor choice of words, Marc. Very poor.

I own six computers... but I didn't stop there... I went to three different library computers (three different local libraries), and asked several friends in California. No one, NOT ONE had a problem loading the sight.

Marc... I only have so much time in the day, so I may not have hit every link, but I can't find a single link that doesn't work.

Terminus -> RE: Can not access http://www.locknloadgame.com/ (9/11/2005 5:09:30 PM)

Works fine for me as well...

Adam Parker -> RE: Can not access http://www.locknloadgame.com/ (9/11/2005 5:14:21 PM)

Never a prob here either. Always fast.

And I like the "Out of the Wrapper" thread there showing the contents of the BoH box very much. Wish every board game company did that.

From that thread, it doesn't look like the maps are truly geomorphic given the dirt roads and paved roads not tapering off at the board edges. The maps are noticeably smaller in hex count than those for ASL (13 vs 34 IIRC) meaning that two BoH maps side by side length-wise would basically span the length of 1 ASL map. So 2 BoH maps with dirt roads and 2 with bitumen kinda makes some sense.

However, as with say, the Platoon level Panzer Grenadier Series having smaller mounted maps than its older rival Panzer Blitz, the smaller maps of BoH do create some goemorphic oddities. PG is ripe with them in its Bulge game resulting in some very ugly map combinations and impossiblities. With BoH, the house on Map 16 sitting where a player may want to DYO a width-width road net and the dead end road on map 14 create some issues.

Then again, we are living in the days of scanners, so making an posting map overlays should be an easy solution.

Adam.

I'm having problem, too.
Site not found, DNS Error. I'm from Italy.

Deadrise -> RE: Can not access http://www.locknloadgame.com/ (9/11/2005 8:53:09 PM)

Still can't figure it out, started about a month ago, havent been able to access the site since. DSL cable so speed should not bee an issue. Mark, anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks,
John

hm - when using windows, you can open a command box (Start => run => cmd [RETURN])

There are 2 little programs:
ping and tracert

when I do tracert www.locknloadgame.com (skipping the first 10 hops):

10 117 ms 137 ms 135 ms ge-7-23.car1.NewYork1.Level3.net [63.209.170.101
]
11 121 ms 115 ms 115 ms ae-1-51.bbr1.NewYork1.Level3.net [4.68.97.1]
12 118 ms 126 ms 117 ms as-3-0.bbr2.Washington1.Level3.net [4.68.128.206
]
13 127 ms 120 ms 118 ms ae-24-52.car4.Washington1.Level3.net [4.68.121.4

14 120 ms 118 ms 121 ms sl-st20-ash.sprintlink.net [209.244.219.170]
15 120 ms 120 ms 122 ms sl-bb23-rly-5-0.sprintlink.net [144.232.20.153]

17 218 ms 216 ms 179 ms sl-ltdsprflaans-35-0-0.sprintlink.net [160.81.52
.242]
18 185 ms 198 ms 215 ms 205.244.203.58
19 188 ms 170 ms 164 ms rbncrcmt13 [65.41.232.202]
20 198 ms 200 ms 216 ms nc-65-41-36-64.sta.sprint-hsd.net [65.41.36.64]
and there we are.

And when you ping www.locknloadgame.com it should show the IP: 65.41.36.64

Does it all that?

[EDIT] OOOps - right - of course it is locknloadGAME not locknload [:D]

Catgh_MatrixForum -> RE: Can not access http://www.locknloadgame.com/ (9/11/2005 11:18:58 PM)

Hannes,

You might want to check your link ... www.locknloadgame.com is probably the one everyone is talking about, unless Mark is into hip hop music. [:D]

Terminus -> RE: Can not access http://www.locknloadgame.com/ (9/11/2005 11:29:58 PM)

Which he might, or might not, be...

Larac -> RE: Can not access http://www.locknloadgame.com/ (9/12/2005 1:47:09 AM)

Do you have the Java Run TIme app loaded?

I know I do and many who use VAssle have it.

Sometines it helps, and sometimes an older version of Java runtime causes issues.

Also IE vs Netscape vs Mozilla all can act in differing ways.

Perhaps post the Browser and version and Java Runtime and ver if you have, maybe we can find the combo causing issues.

Mine is working great.

IE 6.0.2800
Java Runtime Environment Version 5.0 Update 4

Hope we can get it working for you.

Erik Rutins -> RE: Can not access http://www.locknloadgame.com/ (9/12/2005 4:38:45 PM)

FWIW, it loads fine here. You might want to try getting to it by IP address if the name isn't resolving for you. You could also try running ipconfig /flushdns to make sure nothing unusual is going on with your local system.

- Erik
