Hi Guys, after installing the 1.1 patch the game is no longer playable. I installed it on 2 different machines. First my downloaded file from digitalriver and then the upgrade to 1.1. Before that patch playing was possible for roundabout a month. Now I have the folwling changes: 1. no intro video 2. no animation on the start screen 3. no possibility to open the options/game/military or economic advisor 4. a click on the diplomatic advisor crashes the game 5. I can only pres one time on the end turn button. the second time didn't help anything. Without patch 1.1 everything works fine. On my laptop and my Pc the problem occurs... Can anybody help me ? best wishes

Are your video and sound drivers up to date? The only time I had a test with a collection of bugs like this in one test was when I ran COG on a machine in which the Invidia card was running on the default system drivers instead of the most recent Invidia drivers. I don't know why this problem would be 1.1 specific, however. Are you still able to play the intro videos directly? That is, if you go into the Video directory can you play the AVI files in WMP?

yes, I can play the Intro. Both Machines are XP SP2 machines with ATI Cards. As long as I don't install the patch everything works quite fine. It seems to be a problem with the window pop up ... Sound Driver is from Dec 2004 Realtek Ac 97 and grafic card was updated yesterday...

The 1.2 patch should be ready pretty soon, that may fix your problem. If it doesn't, there are a few other things we can try after that in an attempt to figure out what's going on. Do your two machines have very similar OS configurations and things like virus protection software? What happens when you click on the advisor buttons? Just nothing happens, or does it crash to display / hang the program?

No, Not exactly. Both are XP SP2 Systems one english the other one german. On both systems different security/AV programs are installed. If I am notworng there should be not even one program on both machines... very strange ... thank you for your help do you know a release date for 1.2 ? best wishes

I have a similar problem : I first installed V1.00 and immediately 1.10. It seemed to work for a while (though I experienced some crashes). Then it became impossible to start the game : a "Plato" problem accurs when loading the game. Even after re-installing V1.00 and V1.10 the same problem happenned. Now I desinstalled everything and reinstalled only V1.00, and it seems to work, but I'm expecting some crashes ...
