Slaughtermeyer -> CAP in bad weather (9/27/2005 4:25:15 AM)
|
If the forecast for one of your airfields is thunderstorms, and the enemy airfield from which you expect an air attack is launched is clear, should you reduce the percentage of fighters on CAP to allow them to rest? Or will they automatically rest even if a high percentage have CAP if the weather is bad at the time the enemy bombers appear? The other question, if you have moderately or highly fatigued fighters on a clear-forecast airfield, by how much (if any) percentage should you reduce their cap if all enemy airfields from which you can be attacked have thunderstorms forecast? Would it be reasonable to assume that an enemy airfield with thunderstorms forecast has only about a 20% chance of launching offensive missions?
