Azog -> Looking at other Nations by PBEM (9/28/2005 9:54:58 AM)

I am just begining a PBEM with some friends, we are all beginners with COG but not with wargaming and so on.
As France, I realized that I can open the file generated for the Britts, and look were their troops are, how the finances are, national morale ... EVERYTHING...
How can we avoid this?[:(]
Sorry if it is posted somewhere, but I didnt find it, and I have spend quite a long time reading posts.
Also we had a problem with patch 1.1, the Britt just could not open the file, so we are playing with 1.0.0 Is that normal?
Thanks in advance,

[&o][&o]
Sorry, sorry, I have now seen the password possibility.
But anyway, the other problem with opening files...?

We've been discussing encrypting, or at least scrambling, the save files for PBEM games. Maybe for the third patch.

If a player had 1.0, he would not be able to open save games from 1.1 - that is not a bug, just a sad fact of life.

I am in a couple of PBEMs with 1.1, and no one has any difficulty opening the save games.

So if he was suffering from a bug, its one we don't know about.

Thanks for the fast answer.
Ralegh, by the way, as my friends sometimes are not so bright, it could be his failure as he tried to open the file. The point is he first tried to open the file without the patch, then he installed the patch, but had the same problem, and send the file to another friend, who could not open it. I had no problem at all in opening the file. I dont want to install again the 1.1 and try it again, since we have begun the PBEM. I assume it was maybe his fault.
By the way, some tip for the other problem? Just swearing not to spy the other nations?
Thanks again

Hehe - fast response on you first question, then a week wait - sorry.

There is one other reason someone might not be able to open a game: if they tried to open a PBEM game using the Open Local Game button, it wouldn't work.

Once the users apply a password, your second problem goes away.

Thank you, Ralegh,
Someday, I would like to be like you. [:D]
The point is as my friends need kind of two weeks in doing one turn, we are just in the first one and I could see no option for the password. I supose in the next turn it will be visible..
By the way, great wines in Australia.
